The United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church (USA) celebrate Scout Sunday on the second Sunday of February as not to conflict with Transfiguration Sunday.
Scout Sunday has been celebrated in the US since about the middle 1940s.
The Scout Law says that a "Scout is Reverent" and Scouts of all ages promise to do their "Duty to God".
Scout Sunday was added to the church festivals to make people in church aware of Scouting, and to allow Scouts to live out parts of their pledge.
